Frosty mornings

This year I’ve been in Spain during all the Christmas holidays. I’ve been there almost for a month, enjoying the festive season with my family and friends… And the sun, the blue skies and the mild temperatures that Spain enjoys during the winter. Well, at least during the day. There were a few days when the temperature dropped below 0ºC during the night. Those days I woke up to a wonderful white and fragile world covered with a thin layer of frost.

I stayed in Cáceres, Extremadura, in western Spain, during some of those days, where my family has a house in the countryside. I had beautiful sunny and warm days and freezing nights. I tried to wake up early those days to watch the sunrise and enjoy the ethereal and magical ambiance created by the icy.

    1. If it makes you feel better, I’ve been looking for frozen plants in Dublin for years and I haven’t seen anything like this…. Just a lot of ice on the streets, hahaha. In Spain it’s really beautiful, but it disappears in a few minutes after the sunrise. Beautiful and very ephemeral!!! 🙂

    1. Thanks a lot!!! So glad you like them!!
For these photographs I used two lenses: a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 for the close ups and a Canon EF-S 10-18mm for the landscapes 🙂
For the close ups I like the EF-S 55-250mm too, but that morning I limited myself to the prime lens, hehehe.
