Finally! Summer holidays are here! I can’t wait to spend a few days in Spain with my family and friends. And I’m going to visit California in September! I can’t be more excited with these two trips! Although this means I won’t be posting for the next few weeks, I’ll be travelling with my camera and, hopefully, I’ll have many things to show you when I come back 🙂

I wanted to post something special before holidays. A few weeks ago I visited Lauterbrunnen in the Bernese Alps. Since I came to Switzerland I’ve been seeing photos from this pretty region and it was on the first positions of my must-see list. And it didn’t dissapoint me!

The name Lauterbrunnen means “many fountains”. It is located in a beautiful valley with docens of waterfalls, the most famous being Staubbach Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in Europe with a height of 300m. The valley is surrounded by gigantic rock faces and mountain peaks crowned by snow even during summer.

I went to Lauterbrunnen on a beautiful sunny day. Taking the mountain train and the gondola lift I visited also the little towns of Wengen and Mürren, where I could enjoy the views from the flanks of the valley. At the end of the day, storm clouds started to gather around the mountain peaks, giving the valley a moody and beautiful look.

Here are some photos from that day. I hope you like them! See you in September!! 🙂

  2. So glad I found your blog. I like your photos of “downtown” Lauterbrunnen. I was just in this area with my family this summer. So interesting to see somebody else’s photos from the same place.
